Events–Currently Scheduled Trips

February 04 Aransas NWR/Texas to shoot migrating whooping
cranes, including the Lobstick twins, only the second pair of
whoopers to migrate south from Wood Buffalo Park in Canada in
more than thirty years. In the fall of 2003 a record number of 196
whoopers made the long journey to their wintering grounds on the
Texas gulf coast. Whoopers are one of the truly remarkable stories
of endangered species preservation, back from the brink of
extinction with only 18 birds world wide in 1948, to over 350 birds
in the wild today.

For more info on this phenomenal occurrence, visit National Geographic’s crane cam site at: http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/cranecam/
